A few weeks ago now, I had the chance to *finally* work with the Gorman family.  They wanted something by the water, but something with some long grass also – and luckily I found a spot in Loggieville that fit the bill perfectly! ♥

I know they are very anxious to see these, so I’m going to stop talking now and just show you some of my favourites… best to let the images do the talking anyway, right?

This next image is, well, one of those images that I feel lucky enough to have shot – a timeless moment to treasure forever – I think a lot of grandpas would love to have a photo like this ♥

The Calder family were visiting Miramichi recently from Ottawa (Patricia is from the area originally), and I got to spend some time with them at one of my favourite spots in Loggieville. It was very “non-posy”, casual, candid… just the way I like things. From what I hear, the kids weren’t particularly looking forward to a photo session on their “vacation”, but in the end, everyone had a blast, including me! Patricia is a photographer herself, so it’s always a compliment when another photographer asks you to document their own family!

Here are some of my favourites from our evening by the water:

It’s been probably 3+ years since I last photographed this brother and sister duo… and I saw so many changes in both of them this time around. They were visiting with family with their Mom, so luckily we were able to get together for a really fun photo session. I don’t know who had more fun… me or them. Haha. These water fights that ensue are kind of crazy, but seriously, they produce some of the most phenomenal photos!! Letting kids play and get dirty always results in the most natural and carefree images. Here are some of my favourites from our sunny evening photo session ♥

I love the above image more than words can explain…. I can guarantee you that it will be in my favourites of 2014, and probably favourites of all time. It’s fun and candid and screams summer… I wouldn’t change a thing ♥

For the last few years, I’ve had the pleasure of documenting Heather and her family, usually in the fall… this year we decided to change it up, and do photos in the summer.  Now miss Ivy has joined her older brothers, and she definitely stole my heart ♥

I love seeing how families interact with one another, and capturing the emotions involved… because you can’t ever get these memories back. I know I laughed and smiled as I looked through these photos, so hopefully you all enjoy them as much as I do! ♥

I don’t often do huge family sessions like this one…. coordinating everyone’s schedules, and trying to juggle that many people into one session can definitely be a challenge. I’ve known Sarah since high school though, so I was happy to head to Youghall Beach in Bathurst and document their growing family! This place holds special value to this family, so it was definitely the perfect backdrop for this session. We did a handful of “posed” shots, but honestly, most everything else was candid and kind of random…. just the way I like it… ha! I had a blast with them, and I think you’ll agree that they did too (especially the kids – you’ll understand once you see the photos). The kids got messy (and so did the everyone else, me included)…. and lots of memories were created and captured. Here are my favourites from the very large number of images I shot that day 2 weeks ago:
