I had planned on using my Lensbaby for this week’s post (truthfully I’d like to use it for every post) but, once I saw the snowflakes yesterday, I knew I had to dig out my macro lens and snag some close-up shots. I love the detail of snowflakes, and how unique each one is, but I’ve never been able to capture it properly before… until now. These shots are far from perfect, but they’re definitely the best snowflake shots I’ve gotten to this point.

I can’t wait to see what my 3 friends have in store for this week…. first up is Denean Melcher – you’ll find her post here. Enjoy!

Last year I photographed a total of 12 weddings…. Yes, twelve phenomenal couples entrusted me with the task of documenting probably one of the most important days of their lives… and for that I am forever grateful. I had an absolute blast working with each and every one of them. It was really interesting for me to go back through all these weddings to select my favourites – you’re literally talking about thousands of photos – and to see just how unique each wedding truly was. Several of the venues were the same, but each couple put their own spin on things.  I really enjoy capturing all the different little details and moments that really make each wedding different, and capturing the love these couples have for each other.  From the bottom of my heart, thank you, to all the couples I had the fortune to work with this year…. you all rock!!

So here are my favourites from all the wedding photos I shot in the past year… I saved a good chunk of my absolute faves for the end of this post, so make sure you look through everything ♥

Now…. here are my top 36. Sounds like a weird number, I know… but I picked 3 from each wedding that I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED…. there’s something about each and every one of these photos that made them stand out to me above all others ♥

If you made all the way here, thanks for taking the time to look at all of my favourite wedding photos!  I’d love if you left me a comment – to tell me what you think of these photos, what your favourite one is, or even just to say hi! ♥

  • stacy - SOOOOOO many great shots Faye! great work!ReplyCancel

I haven’t had the opportunity to do too many maternity shoots in the past, but this past year, I was fortunate enough to get to photograph 3 gorgeous mamas-to-be. I was equally blessed with several newborns and babies. I think the miracle that is pregnancy and new human life is so beautiful, and it really needs to be documented. I, personally, have very few photos of myself when I was pregnant… and after photographing these ladies, I have to say, I’m kind of jealous. If I had the chance, I’d be getting maternity photos done……. no question.  It would be nice to show all the photos from all these sessions from the past year, but I had to narrow it down… so here are my personal favourites ♥

As usual, I left my top 5 until the end of the post. Sometimes when you click the shutter, you just know you’re going to have something amazing…. and these 5 are classic examples of just that.

I know I say this a lot, but I truly feel so blessed that all these families entrust me with capturing such a fleeting time in their lives. Just, thank you ♥

Today I’m happy to share with you a post of my favourite engagement images from 2013.  I had the opportunity to work with lots of amazing couples last year, so I had a hard time narrowing this down.  I couldn’t put every photo from every session here (as much I would love to)…. so here are my (personal) favourite photos of couples in love from the past year ♥

So I saved my top 5 for the end of the post….. while I love all these couples and their images, there are always images that stand out to me, above all others, for some reason. These are the ones that were my personal absolute favourite engagement photos for 2013 ♥

I want to sincerely thank all of these lovely couples for trusting me to photograph them…. I had a blast working with each and every one of you!

This year’s personal project is a bit of a switch-up from last year’s.  I’m working with the same 3 fabulous ladies, but we’re taking a different approach. While you may still see some macro (close-up) shots like we did last year, we’re mainly focusing on being creative and inspired by whatever is around us. Many times we will be using our Lensbaby lenses for this. I know, personally, I don’t use this particular lens often enough. It is completely manual focus (no autofocus happening!) which makes it much more challenging (for me, anyway). Plus it’s just got a whole different look and feel to it than anything else I shoot with. You really have to take your time with it… which is actually a good thing, to be honest. Sometimes as photographers we get caught up in the moment and end up rushing too much. This project is going to serve to remind me to slow down and enjoy the creative process 🙂

This week, I focused on some interesting holiday lights  and decorations I saw when I was visiting family.

This next one is a bit of a self-portrait – albeit a tiny one. Yes, I’m in there 🙂

I hope you’ll check out the posts of the other very talented ladies I’m working with! First up is Denean Melcher, from “balmy” Pennsylvania 😉
